History
In 1918, Swiss watchmaker Georges Schaeren founded the Mido company. Mido’s name alone is an acknowledgement of its deep connection to timekeeping. It is derived from the Spanish “Yo mido”, which means “I measure”. Driven by the visionary power of the company founder, the brand has always combined watchmaking expertise, innovation, functionality and aesthetics. Mido has its headquarters in the watchmaking town of Le Locle, the stronghold of watchmaking excellence in the heart of the Swiss Jura mountains, and is part of the Swatch Group.
